Key Responsibilities:

**Client Interaction:**

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, keeping them informed about the progress of their case.
  • Interview clients to gather detailed information about the personal injury incident.
  • Provide clients with guidance on the legal process and what to expect as their case moves forward.

**Case Coordination:**

  • Manage case documentation, including medical records, accident reports, and other relevant information.
  • Coordinate with medical providers to ensure that medical reports and billing information are accurate and complete.
  • Collaborate with attorneys to develop legal strategies and case theories.

**Administrative Duties:**

  • Maintain organized case files and databases.
  • Schedule appointments, court dates, and meetings.
  • Prepare and submit legal documents, such as pleadings, motions, and settlement agreements, under the supervision of an attorney.
  • Manage multi-line telephones, set appointments for new/existing clients, and take case information from clients, medical providers, insurance companies, and opposing counsels.

**Claims Management:**

  • Assist in the investigation of claims by gathering facts and evidence.
  • Review and summarize medical records and other case documents.
  • Help in calculating damages and negotiating settlements.
  • Negotiate Subrogation Interests.

**Legal Support:**

  • Conduct legal research related to cases.
  • Draft correspondence and legal documents for review by an attorney

**Financial Management:**

  • Monitor and report on compensation payouts and client disbursements.
  • Assist with the financial negotiations of settlements.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

**Education:**

  • A bachelor’s degree is preferred, though relevant experience is considered.
  • Certification as a paralegal or case manager can be advantageous.

**Experience:**

  • Minimum 5 years of experience working in a Personal Injury law firm;
  • Possess a strong working knowledge of personal injury pre-litigation matters;
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite (i.e., Outlook, Word, Excel) and other applications and/or systems (i.e., Adobe, Internet);
  • Professional appearance and “get it done” attitude;
  • Experience handling large volume of personal injury pre-lit cases;
  • FileVine Case Management software (or similar) experience is a huge plus;

**Skills:**

  • Detail-oriented professional with a positive outlook;
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with clients, attorneys, and other professionals.
  • Organizational and multitasking abilities to handle multiple cases simultaneously.
  • Attention to detail to ensure accuracy in legal documentation and case management.
  • Proficiency in office software, including word processing, spreadsheets, and databases, as well as case management software.
  • Negotiation and problem-solving skills.
